Terez Denshaw

Hello and welcome!

This is my 5th year teaching; my 3rd year as a Memorial Mustang. I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2012 with a double major in English and Spanish literature. After graduating college, I worked in the oil industry for six months as a technical writer / office manager where I discovered office work and the oil industry were not for me. After some research, I found a certification course that would allow me to teach English overseas (TEFL). I signed up, packed a backpack and booked a plane to Chile for the start of 2013. In Chile, I taught English at a local K-12 school in Talca before moving to Santiago to teach English to CEO and business executives. Once I returned to Texas, I began looking for options for teaching but discovered I lacked the necessary credentials, so I enrolled in the teacher post-graduate program at University of Texas - Victoria (UHV) where I learned the pedagogy and psychology necessary to be an effecctive teacher. My plan was to go directly into teaching, but Texas A&M accepted me into their bilingual education masters program, so instead of going straight into the profession I moved up to College Station to pursue higher education before finally beginning my teaching career in Bryan at an early college high school. After two wonderful years as a Bryan Collegiate Panther, I decided it was time to come home to Houston.

The best way to contact me is via email ([email protected]). My phone extension is x2584
