Spring Branch ISD

Hello!

I'm excited to be your teacher this 2020-21 school year!

I started out at Valley Oaks Elementary as a long term sub in Adaptive Behavior and then completed my first year of teaching at Edgewood Elementary as their English, reading, and language arts resource teacher. This is going to be my third year here at MHS :)

Why high school? It's been a goal of mine since I dreamed of teaching when I was a kiddo at Spring Woods HS to teach in a secondary school (don't worry, I'm a Mustang all the way!) - so here I am!

I was the third generation in my family to attend Spring Branch schools. I obtained my BA in Art with a minor in English from the University of Houston and I am currently working on my MEd in Learning and Technology. As one can tell from my focus of study, I have a passion for art and English and my minor concentration was in creative writing. I am certfied to teach secondary English, all level special education and art, and all core curriculum from early education to 6th grade. In addtion to my certifications, I have a supplimental cetification for ESL.

Outside of the professional world I am a drummer in a few local bands and I play professional air hockey - it’s totally a thing.

With all of that said, my family is the center of my world. My son, Eric, is a creative and science minded eighth grader at SBMS, and my daughter, Annie is attending at HCC. She is an amazingly talented harpist and singer who's goal is to become a veterinarian. My husband, Peter is a 1998 Memorial alum and thrilled that his wife is now a Mustang, too!

I have so many special things planned for this school year! Our classrooms, both virtual and in-person, are ready and I can't wait to share my love of teaching English and reading with my students.

Go Mustangs!
