Spring Branch ISD

Jason Zimmerman

I have grown up in the Houston area for all my life.  After graduating from Langham Creek HS (CFISD), I earned my Bachelors degree from Stephen F. Austin St. Univ. in 2002 with a double major in Biology and Health Sciences, while also attaining my teaching certificate (so it could be looked upon as a triple major :)).

After a semester at Jersey Village HS, I began teaching at Memorial HS in 2003.  Since 2004, I have also been the head coach of the Boys Soccer program here.

High school is one of the most pivotal times in his/her educational progression, academically and socially.  Some students quickly grasp that balance and manage the two accordingly, but others struggle with that balance.  I was one who struggled with this early in HS, and I use my experiences as a means to assist my students towards making good decisions for themselves, not only in my class or school, but in the real world.  My goal when students walk out of my class is that everyday they are better for having spent time in my class, and by the end of the year they have developed tools and strategies to be successful moving forward.

I have been married for the 17 years, and have two great kids, a 13 years old daughter and a 7 year old son.  If I have any free time, besides catching up on sleep, I love reading, playing with my kids and dog, and spending time on family land in East Texas away from everything
