About Me
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and I am a Spring Branch ISD graduate. I attended Rummel Creek Elementary and Memorial Middle School. I graduated from Stratford High School in 2000 and continued my education at Texas A&M University. I graduated from A&M in 2004 with a B.A. in English and History. I completed my semester of student teaching at Katy Taylor High School where I taught English II, English IV, and U.S. History. I then returned to Stratford as a long-term substitute and taught Integrated Physics and Chemistry. After a semester and a half at Stratford, I moved to Memorial High School. This will be my sixteenth year at Memorial. During my time at Memorial, I have taught English I Academic, English I Pre-AP/GT, English II Academic, and Reading I. I have also coached cross country, basketball, and track. This year I am teaching English I Academic and English I Pre-AP.
My husband, Brian, teaches AP Government and coaches football at MHS. We have an eight year old son, Buck, and a four year old daughter, Annie, who both attend Nottingham Elementary. In my spare time I enjoy running, working in my yard, and reading.
I love the English I curriculum, and I enjoy having the opportunity to welcome a new group of students to high school and watch them grow over the course of four years. I look forward to an exciting year!!

Tutorials are held by appointment. Students need to talk to me, and we will set up a time that works for both of us. Students are able to Zoom with one of the English I teachers (it could be me or another teacher) Tuesday after school and Friday mornings. Those Zoom links are posted on the Class Zoom Links page in itslearning.
Make-up work is a student responsibility. Students are expected to request, complete, and submit work that they have missed in a timely manner.
