Spring Branch ISD

Mrs. Bri Foresman

This will be my eighth year teaching Life Skills in SBISD, and my third year at SOMS.

In December of 2009, I received my B.A. in Psychology with support work in Special Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio. In pursuit of my M.S. in Psychology (2012), I returned to UTSA and studied the emotional and social communication deficits experienced in special populations. Following graduation, I moved to Houston and began working as a paraprofessional, while completing my alternative certification through Texas Teachers.

The classroom is set up in the Structured TEACH model.  Students will have a visual schedule to follow, and will rotate through stations during the school day.  These stations include: Work with Teacher, Small Group, Activboard, Fine Motor, Independent Work, Technology, and Break.  On Fridays we will emphasize functional and vocational training, where students will participate in cooking and kitchen safety lessons, custodial tasks, and practice pro-social communication.
