Spring Branch ISD

Kristi Dina

This is my fourth year as a SBAI teacher.  I am grateful to work with an AMAZING dynamic group of colleagues and students who wow me on a daily basis with their thirst for learning and impressive insights.  It is an added bonus to work in the same district as my own children.  My older son, Zachary, is in 7th grade at Cornerstone Academy and my younger son, Caleb, is in 4th grade at Valley Oaks.

My entry into SBISD was way back in the fall of 1994 when I was assigned to student teach at Frostwood Elementary.  Upon graduation from Stephen F. Austin State University, I taught for a very short time in Goose Creek ISD.  Then I went to London, England and taught as a supply (substitute) teacher in a variety of public schools.  SBISD called me while in London to offer me a teaching position back at Frostwood. I returned and taught 1st and 3rd grades 1995 - 1999.

Since travel is one of my passions, I took off to the American School of Rio de Janeiro to teach 1st and 5th grades 1999 - 2002.  When I returned home in 2002, I started work with The Appelbaum Training Institute training teachers of early childhood through high school at seminars and in-services across the USA.  I still work for them occasionally speaking at Saturday seminars in various cities.  I also worked part-time at Sugar Land Prepatory Academy before returning to full time teaching with SBAI.

I grew up in Crosby, Texas (northeast of Houston).  The activities of my two boys keep us busy on weekends with scouts and sports.  We enjoy traveling anytime we can too.

Please reach out to me if ever you have any questions, concerns, compliments or celebrations!
