Spring Branch ISD

Kristi Dina

This is my second year as a SBAI teacher.  I sincerely love being part of such an invigorating program with a truly terrific group of colleagues.  It is an added bonus to work on the same campus as my own children.  My older son, Zachary, is in 5th grade and my younger son, Caleb, is in 2nd grade at Valley Oaks.

My entry into SBISD was way back in the fall of 1994 when I was assigned to student teach at Frostwood Elementary.  Upon graduation from Stephen F. Austin, I taught for a very short time in Goose Creek ISD.  Then I went to London, England and taught as a supply (substitute) teacher in a variety of public schools.  SBISD called me while in London to offer me a teaching position back at Frostwood. I returned and taught 1st and 3rd grades 1995 - 1999.

Since travel is one of my passions, I took off to the American School of Rio de Janeiro to teach 1st and 5th grades 1999 - 2002.  When I returned home in 2002, I started work with The Appelbaum Training Institute training teachers of early childhood through high school at seminars and in-services across the USA.  I still work for them occasionally speaking at Saturday seminars in various cities.

I grew up in Crosby, Texas (northeast of Houston).  My family attends Chapelwood UMC.  I am a den leader for the wolves in Cub Scout Pack 552.  My husband, Todd, is also a den leader for the Webelo II den.  We enjoy family trips each summer.  This past summer we were able to visit Yellowstone National Park and Grand Tetons, along with a second trip with my parents to Oahu and Kauai!

Please reach out to me if ever you have any questions, concerns, compliments or celebrations!
