Spring Branch ISD

Lauren Davis

Like most of my students, I started learning German in high school. I then earned my B.A. in German and European Studies from Northwestern University (Go 'Cats!) and my M.A. in German from the University of Houston (Go Coogs!). Prior to teaching, I worked at the German American Chamber of Commerce facilitation bilateral trade between the US and Germany, for the US Department of Veteran Affairs' to help US Veterans to recruit German physicians to serve US veterans who live in Germany, and finally for a Houston-based translation and interpretation company. I lived in Germany for three years, as an undergraduate exchange student in T├╝bingen, a translation intern in Cologne, and a graduate student in Leipzig. When I am not in the classroom, I am on my bike or at the gym, working in my garden, cooking, or reading.

I have an "open door" policy when it comes to tutorials, but I just ask that students give me at least a day's notice when they are coming in so that I can make preparations. Retakes and makeups of quizzes and tests are Mondays after school, as dictated by the MHS policy.
