About me:

Like most of my students, I started learning German in high school. I then earned my B.A. in German and European Studies from Northwestern University (Go 'Cats!) and my M.A. in German from the University of Houston (Go Coogs!).

Prior to teaching, I worked at the German American Chamber of Commerce, promoting bilateral trade and cultural exchange between the US and Germany, for the US Department of Veteran Affairs' recruiting physicians for a network of medical providers for US Veterans living in Germany, and for a Houston-based translation and interpretation company.

I lived in Germany for three years, as an undergraduate exchange student in Tübingen, a translation intern in Cologne, and a graduate student in Leipzig.

I came to teaching after several years of private teaching and tutoring. It was always the work that brought the most satisfaction, so I pursued my alternative certification in 2016. When I am not in the classroom, I am riding my bike, singing with the Houston Sängerbund, reading, or doing yoga.
