Snapshot of Mrs. Burling

Hello! Welcome to kindergarten! My name is Liz Burling and I am delighted to be your child's teacher at Wilchester Elementary. I'm looking forward to a fascinating year filled with excitement, discovery, and friendship.

Just to give you some information about myself, I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I graduated from Northbrook High School then went to Texas A&M University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. After graduation, I got married, moved to Houston and started teaching at Terrace Elementary as a 1st grade teacher. I have worked as a classroom teacher, technology liaison, and intervention specialist within the district. I am certified to teach Early Childhood-4th grade (PK-4) and hold the SBEC Gifted and Talented Supplemental Certification.

In 2013 while working as a 3rd grade teacher, my son was born and I decided to stay at home with him after the school year was completed. During this time, I continued to sub in Spring Branch ISD and was a long-term substitute in kindergarten at Wilchester. I fell in love with the atmosphere and really admired how flawlessly the kinder team worked together. I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of the kinder team and the Wilchester family!

I love working with children and helping them become motivated, independent learners! As a parent, I know how hard it is to send your babies off to school. Please know that I will always do my best to provide a safe and loving classroom environment for all my students. I consider parents and teachers as partners in education. Please let me know of any questions, concerns, comments or suggestions you may have for making this year a happy and successful one for your child.
