Spring Branch ISD

Yoset Altamirano

Hola! I am originally from Honduras, where I studied Music Education at the National School of Music.

I taught music for 5 years at Centro Escolar Antares, a private school in the capital city, Tegucigalpa. I loved teaching music and was the founder of the band and other musical groups in the school.  I moved to the US in 1999 to study voice at the University of Southern Mississippi. I graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts and then continue with a Master in Arts in the teaching of Foreign Languages. I taught Spanish I and II at the University of Southern Mississippi as an adjunct teacher. I  moved to New Orleans in 2003 and  I taught Music and Spanish for 2 years at a charter school.  Huracane Katrina brought me to Houston and I have been teaching at Memorial High school since then. Although music is my first love, I enjoy teaching Spanish and love the students at Memorial.  In my free time I love making music and I am a proud member of the Houston Symphony Chorus. Hope you have a great year in my class!
