8th Grade at CSA

Hello 8th graders! If you have been at CSA, "Welcome Back!" and if you are new this year, "Welcome!" I love being at Cornerstone and I am especially excited about teaching 8th grade Math and Science.

My expectations are that you work your hardest to constantly learn and improve as a scientist and mathematician. My role is to guide you and give you the necessary tools and support.

This will be my fourth year at CSA, my sixth year in SBISD, and my eighth year teaching. I have taught 5th grade Science, Math, and Social Studies, and 6-8 grade science.

Before teaching, I was a Geologist and a chef. I attended Bowdoin College in Maine for my undergraduate degree and spent a few years studying Geology at Texas A&M in College Station.  I attended the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Boulder Colorado and spent some time cooking. I am a lifelong learner, which explains why I have had other careers before teaching. I want to stay in education for the rest of my life, because I love watching people learn and discover their passions and gifts.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, 2 cats, dog, and chinchilla. I love to read, practice yoga, cook, and travel when I can.
