Spring Branch ISD

Kate Zuelke

About Me: My name is Kate Zuelke and I am a teacher at Meadow Wood Elem. I was born and raised in Houston Texas and never left. My hobbies include, camping, backpacking, traveling by car, hiking, eating, roller blading, watching movies, and hanging out with family. I graduated in 2016 from the University of Houston. After I graduated, I continued my passion for education and became an Elementary Special Education Teacher in Spring Branch ISD. For 4 year now, going on 5, I have stayed in the classroom teaching to multiple grades, multiple learning difference, and loving every minute of it. #LimitlessCuriosity

I started my teaching career in Spring Branch in August 2016. During my second year as a teacher I took many leadership roles within my school and district. I was nominated Teacher of the Year on my campus, and then a District Teacher of the Year Finalist for Spring Branch. I love challenges, staying busy, and educating our future. I believe in supporting every learner and their journey through their educational career. #MoralCompass

My Why: I found my passion for teaching when I was very young. I watched my mom as a teacher for 30+ years and saw her passion for her students. It wasn't until 6th grade when I knew I wanted to be a Special Education Teacher. I struggled myself as a students and I knew I didn't want that for anyone else. I strive every day to help and provide the support my students need to feel successful in their everyday life.  #EveryChild
