Juan Gomez

Coach Gomez was born in Mexico City, and moved to the U.S. at the start of the 6th grade. He attended Katy High School, where his experience as a student-athlete convinced him to become a teacher and coach. He attended Texas A&M University where he studied Mathematics and was a member of the Corps of Cadets. Recently, he earned his Masters in Educational Management at the University of Houston – Clear Lake.

Coach Gomez is entering his 19th year as a teacher and coach. His classroom experience includes teaching everything from 7th Grade Math to Calculus, Junior High Science to Physics, and even Physical Education. As a coach, football is his primary sport, but he has also coached softball, basketball, soccer, and even pole vault during his career.

In his first year at Spring Branch ISD, Coach Gomez is teaching Algebra I and coaching Football and Softball at Northbrook HS. 

Coach Gomez is happily married to his wife Beth El, and they have two children Ashlynn (4) and Alden (1). He loves dogs, sports, watching movies, and is an aspiring amateur chef. 

Fun fact: Coach Gomez has two brothers, who are both also teachers and football coaches.
